Byte Swarm Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 30, 2026
Byte Swarm is a game created and published by Commander Beef. This policy explains how information is handled when you play the game or use its first-party web tools.
Personal Information
Byte Swarm does not intentionally sell personal information or build advertising profiles. The game does not require a Byte Swarm account.
Game Saves and Preferences
Game progress, settings, unlocks, checkpoints, coins, cores, and similar gameplay data are stored locally in your browser/application runtime. Local save data remains usable without Google Drive and can be imported or exported by you.
Optional Google Drive Cloud Saves
If you choose to connect Google Drive, Byte Swarm requests access only to its own Google Drive application-data area and uses it to synchronize Byte Swarm save data. Google handles authentication and storage. The developer does not receive or maintain a separate copy of your Google Drive cloud save. Disconnecting Google Drive does not delete or disable your local save.
Bug Forum
The first-party bug board stores the report fields you submit, such as what broke, severity, frequency, device/platform, build number, reproduction details, and optional diagnostics. Public issue pages do not expose the optional diagnostic payload. When a report is accepted, the developer may receive an email notification containing the ordinary report fields and reproduction details so new bugs are noticed promptly; the private diagnostic payload is not included in that email. Official replies are restricted to the developer. The bug board uses a first-party abuse guard implemented in the Byte Swarm Worker: rate limiting, a hidden honeypot field, minimum form time, request-origin/header checks, payload limits, and recent-duplicate rejection. No CAPTCHA or third-party challenge widget is required.
Online Hosting
Byte Swarm loads game and website content from byteswarm.net using Cloudflare infrastructure. The source-download archive may be served from downloads.byteswarm.net using Cloudflare R2. Like ordinary website hosting, Cloudflare may process IP addresses, browser/network information, request metadata, and similar technical data needed to provide and protect the service.
Analytics and Advertising
Byte Swarm does not currently include developer-operated behavioral advertising or targeted-ad tracking.
Children's Privacy
Byte Swarm does not knowingly build profiles of children. Bug reports should not include private or identifying information that is unnecessary to reproduce a bug.
Changes
This policy may be updated if Byte Swarm's features or data practices change. The revision date above will be updated when that happens.
